The vast hillfort of Šoveniū piliakalnis, nestled in Lithuania's woods

Šoveniū piliakalnis, hidden in the woods near Anykščių rajono savivaldybės territorie, Lithuania, is an archaeological site dating back to the Iron Age. Discovered in 1969, it covers an area of approximately 30x25 meters and stands at a height of 10 meters. The site includes numerous pits, hearths, and animal bone remains. Remnants of statues, about 6-10 meters tall, can still be seen on top, though they are slowly eroding now. The hillfort and the settlement occupy an area of about 13346 square meters. The site was researched in 1974 by the Research and Development Group.
