The Enigmatic Laureate, Downtown Milwaukee

Stepping onto the Riverwalk in downtown Milwaukee, you'll stumble upon a unique piece of art: the 12-foot tall Laureate, an abstract marvel. Commissioned by the Allen-Bradley Company in 1969 to honor its founder, Harry Lynde Bradley, Laureate stands proudly on the east bank of the Milwaukee River at 929 North Water Street, not far from the Performing Arts Center.

Constructed back in 1969, Laureate ain't your average statue. This 12-foot-tall metal fella was commissioned by the Allen-Bradley Company in memory of its founding legend, Harry Lynde Bradley. You can find him soaking up the sun on the east bank of the Milwaukee River, nestled comfortably at 929 North Water Street, not too far from the Performing Arts Center. This abstract artwork, designed by Seymour Lipton in 1969, has an air of mystery about it - leaving its purpose up to you to figure out, making it all the more intriguing.
