Gettlinge, a village in southwest Öland, Sweden, is known for its impressive Viking stone ship burial ground. The burial ground, Gettlinge gravfält, runs along road 136 between the villages Gårdstorp, Gettlinge, and Klinta and encompasses more than 130 graves: mounds, stone settings, stone circles, and ship settings. Findings include spears, shields, spurs, and even a dog. The site has attracted scholars for centuries, with historians like Johannes Haquini Rhezelius, Carl von Linné, and others making important discoveries here. Today, the Swedish National Property Board manages the site.
