Vinterviken’s nitroglycerine and dynamite factories as well as the sulfuric acid factory were all inside a fenced area with a security staff and a gatehouse. The area was guarded 24 hours a day, and the guard with his/her family lived in the house. The original gatehouse did not survive, but you can find an old entrance to the basement on the right side of the parking lot near the house.
