The Mother of Water

La Madre del Agua (which means The Mother of Water in Spanish) is an idyllic willow grove where a small water spring comes out of a cave called Cueva del Naciente de Madre del Agua.
The water that emerges from here comes from the forest on the summit, which filters down until it reaches a layer of impermeable rock and then trickles down the island like an underground waterslide, until it emerges along the walls of the ravine.This is a common phenomenon on the island, but in this area it is especially common, The flow of water has reduced due to overexploitation in the past and a reduction in rainfall.
