Picasso's uncle, Baldomero Ghiara, owned a jewelry store that was located in this building. It was Baldomero who supported Pablo financially during his studies at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. That jewelry store is long gone but you can enter the current shop to admire the beautiful allegories painted on the ceiling dating from the 19th century.
