This basilica partly designed by Michelangelo, was chosen for Fellini’s state funeral service in November 1993. Around 30,000 mourners had gathered earlier in the day at Cinecittà, with thousands waiting outside the church for a glimpse of his coffin. Shortly after the service, the burial took place in Fellini’s hometown Rimini. His grave can be found at Rimini cemetery (see story about Fellini’s final resting place here https://reveal.world/en/story/fellinis-final-resting-place).
