Two famous film directors, Andrey Tarkovsky and Tonino Guerra stayed at this hotel during their trip around Italy in search for locations for a future movie. Tarkovsky fell in love with Bagno Vignoni. A year later, he returned here to film Nostalghia. He stayed in Le Terme again, in the same room - room number 30. The room was special. One of the windows led to the shaft of a non-existent elevator, a peculiar detail which Tarkovsky seemed to enjoy.
