In the film "Seventeen Moments of Spring," this building played the role of the Berlin hotel "Neue Tor," near which Stirlitz met Bormann, whose car was supposed to stop to the left of the entrance at the corner of the streets, when viewed from the Museum of Natural History.

"He got out, sat behind the wheel, and slowly drove to Invalidenstraße, to the Museum of Natural History. Bormann was soon expected to arrive there, at the 'Neue Tor' hotel."

But this house is notable not only for its role in cinema. On the tops of its two towers, you can see cats. According to legend, the wealthy homeowner Blümer, unhappy that he was not allowed to become a member of the Riga Great Guild, the representative body of Riga’s merchants, undertook an act of psychological retaliation. He commissioned sculptural images of black cats with arched backs and placed them on the pointed turrets of his tenement house, turning their tails toward the windows of the office of the elder of the Great Guild. A lawsuit was initiated against Blümer, but legal measures failed to make the cats face forward, since Blümer was a good friend of the judge and paid generous bribes. It is unknown when and how a settlement was reached with the stubborn and unyielding Blümer, but in the end, the cats were turned to the 'correct' angle."

The history of this place begins in 1743. It was then that Baron Sergey Stroganov became the owner of the plot near the Chyornaya Rechka metro station. The construction of the building was undertaken by Petr Sadovnikov, a former serf of the Golitsyn family and an architect, while the decoration of the facades and interiors was supervised by Harald Bosse. The construction was completed in 1843. The building's facade faced Stroganovskaya Street (now Akademika Krylova Street). The mansion was surrounded by a landscaped park, part of which has been preserved as Stroganov Garden. The main entrance is marked by gates consisting of two pseudo-Tudor towers with battlements and loopholes. These have also survived to this day. One of the most famous Sherlock Holmes episodes, "The Bloody Inscription," was filmed here.

The Hauswald Dacha is one of the first buildings in the Art Nouveau style on Kamenniy Island, designed by the then-popular young architects Vladimir Chagin and Vasily Shene. It gained recognition across the Soviet Union and even abroad after the release of the film *The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson*, as this building "played" the role of Irene Adler's house. Additionally, it appeared in the films *Don Cesar de Bazan*, *The Bat*, *Without Family*, and *Maritza*.

The Exchange Bridge can be seen in many films about Saint Petersburg. For example, in *The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia*, a riverboat passes under the bridge, and the character played by actor Andrei Mironov hangs from the wing of the bridge. For the filming, the bridge was specially raised during the day; the scene was shot with stunt doubles, but for close-ups, the actor himself hung over the river at a height equivalent to a 15-story building. This is the bridge often shown in movies when the action takes place on Palace Bridge: they look very similar, but it is much easier to close the Exchange Bridge to traffic during filming.

The Singing Bridge is the closest bridge to Palace Square; it is even considered its continuation. It is the fourth widest bridge in St. Petersburg (after the Blue, Kazansky, and Aptekarsky bridges). The bridge connects Kazansky and 2nd Admiralteysky Islands across the Moika River and was formerly called the "Yellow" bridge. The Moika is the only river in St. Petersburg over which bridges with "color" names have been built. They were constructed by different specialists at different times. These are the Yellow (now Singing) Bridge near Palace Square, the Green (later Police) Bridge at the corner of the Moika River and Nevsky Prospect, the Red Bridge at the intersection of Gorokhovaya Street and the Moika Embankment, and finally, the widest bridge in our city, the Blue Bridge, at Isaakievskaya Square.

Among the entire "scatter" of mansions on the Palace Embankment, once belonging to members of the imperial family, there is a special diamond with an exquisite architectural cut – the Palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, brother of Emperor Alexander III and uncle of the last Emperor Nicholas II. During the construction of the palace, the Grand Duke held the position of president of the Academy of Arts, and in 1884 he became the commander-in-chief of the guard and the Petersburg military district. It was he who gave the order to shoot the peaceful demonstration on January 9, 1905, after which he was removed from office. The Diogenes Club from the famous film was located here.

The Matilda Kshesinskaya Mansion is one of the legends of St. Petersburg. This historic building, erected at the beginning of the 20th century on Troitskaya Square in the northern capital, has remained almost unchanged to this day. The mansion belonged to the famous St. Petersburg ballerina and socialite Matilda Kshesinskaya, who was favored by Emperor Nicholas II himself. After the October events of 1917, the ballerina’s mansion came under the control of the Petrograd Soviet. Later, it housed the "Ilyich Corner," the Society of Old Bolsheviks, and the Museum of the Great October Socialist Revolution. After the collapse of the USSR, the building became home to the State Museum of the Political History of Russia. Everyone knows there is a museum on Gorkovskaya, but few remember that such a vivid and genuine history is connected to this beautiful house. The story of one of the most beautiful women of the era of the fall of the Russian Empire.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Eduard Follenweider, a tailor and supplier to the Imperial Court, turned to Roman Meltzer — an architect who was building a house for himself nearby in this settlement — with a request to design a house for him. The building is the first and most striking example of Northern Art Nouveau. This style was actively developing at the time in St. Petersburg under the influence of Scandinavian architecture. In Follenweider’s house project, the architect used a complex combination of shapes and volumes, as well as finishing materials unusual for the region. Among the locals, due to the particularly prominent large tiled roof in the overall composition, the house quickly earned the nickname "Sugar Head."

The Juuliku Shepherd's Villa was built in 1927–29 based on the design of the Estonian architect Robert Natus. The manor was featured in the movie *The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson* in the episode "The Hound of the Baskervilles" as Lefter Hall (Frankland's house).

The Bolshoy Okhtinsky Bridge over the Neva connects the Central District of Saint Petersburg with Krasnogvardeysky (Bolshaya Okhta). The ceremonial laying of the bridge took place on (June 26) July 9, 1909, a day before the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava. Therefore, the bridge was named in honor of Emperor Peter the Great.

The oldest music record store, "Rock-Island," was once the most popular in the city. It also gained fame thanks to the cult film "Brother," whose main character buys a record by the band "Nautilus Pompilius" there. The little shop is located at 8 Kirochnaya Street — near the Annenkirche — and is still in operation today.
