The café-bar “Lyra” on Pushkin Square in the 1970s was a cult place. It smelled like abroad, there were signs in Latin script, and fashionable cocktails with straws were served. The foreign spirit was very fitting for the filming of episode 12 of “Seventeen Moments of Spring.” This is where the scene was shot in which the slightly tipsy “lady with a fox” tries to seduce Stirlitz, who came to meet with a contact.

The café-bar “Lyra” has long been gone. But in its place, in 1990, the first McDonald’s in the Soviet Union was opened.
