On the Burriana beach promenade behind the sunbeds and umbrellas, facing the sea, there is a chair. This is the chair of Antonio Mercero, the creator of the iconic television series Verano Azul. This commemorative sculpture was erected in 2001, 20 years after the series was first aired. As the official statement goes, “It changed the history of Nerja” and hence should never be forgotten.
