House with a cannon ball

Stortorget 7, Stockholm, Sweden

Right in the corner of Stortorget and Skomakagatan one can see a cannon ball sitting in the wall. Some say, this cannon ball was fired by Gustav Vasa at King Christian II during the Conquest of Stockholm and almost hit him in the head. Some say, the cannon was placed there over 200 years later in memory of Gustav Vasa who lead the rebel movement following the Stockholm Bloodbath and successfully deposed the Danish-Norwegian King Christian II.
