Groundhog Day House

344 Fremont St, Woodstock, IL 60098, USA

Set in Punxsutawney, which is a very real town in Pennsylvania, the famous “Groundhog Day” (1993) was entirely filmed in Woodstock, Illinois. The grumpy weatherman Phil Connors (played by Bill Murray) choses to stay at the lovely Cherry Street Inn Bed and Breakfast, where everything starts all over again every morning.

Formerly known as the Royal Victorian Manor, The Cherry Tree Inn now offers The Magnolia Suite for the full Groundhog experience. It is hard to predict whether you will be reliving the same day over and over again if you stay there, but the same street view that Phil had from his room is guaranteed.

Bonus fact: The Pennsylvania Hotel where producer Rita Hanson (Andie MacDowell) and cameraman Larry (Chris Elliott) stayed, in real life is the Woodstock Opera House.
